The special design allows working in three temperature ranges:

It is worth adjusting the temperature range depending on the work being done, such as soldering wires (B or C), main electronic components on the PCB (B), cutting lines or cords of plastic (A or B), etc.

The tips of YATO transformer soldering irons are coated with a material that reduces the oxidation of the tip. Senseless overheating and mechanical damage quickly destroy the protective layer, then the tip oxidizes, which leads to problems with the melting of the solder. Instead of the tin melting and sticking to the tip, it rolls and falls off.

A proven way to care for a tip is to tin it. When heating the soldering iron for the first time, put some tin on the tip and remove the excess with something like brass filings. The layer of tin thus formed protects against oxidation. It is good practice to tin the nozzle after each job is finished.

Transformer soldering irons, due to their relatively small dimensions, depend on the production technology of an intermittent transformer. In order to maintain the highest operating parameters of the device, the following principle must be followed:

Exceeding the soldering time once, following the tip care rules, will not adversely affect the further performance of the soldering iron, especially if we let the device cool down. In an overheated transformer, its efficiency decreases, and thus the ability to heat the nozzle to the required temperature. Overheating the transformer also increases the risk of damaging it. A traditional transformer for continuous operation of such a high power should weigh several kilograms, and its dimensions would resemble a small welder, rather than a convenient soldering iron in the shape of a gun.
